Makerere Institute for Social Development

Makerere Institute for Social Development is located on plot 807 Sir Apollo Kaggwa Road, opposite Makerere University main play ground. It was established in 1995 as a private institution by a group of Educational experts to offer certificate and diploma courses in various disciplines, ranging from Social Sciences to Business and IT related programs.
It is registered by the Ministry of Education and Sports, and licensed by National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
It is also affiliated to Makerere University Business School (MUBS). It has a full Governing Council and a team of management headed by the principal.

The Institute has qualified and dedicated lecturers. There are three (3) sessions of study, (morning, evening and Saturday), and students choose what suits them best. The evening and Saturday sessions are particularly designed for workers.
